Event Description
One of the best times to visit the Skagit Valley is in the Spring when all the tulips are in bloom. The annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is a chance to visit the farms when the tulips are in bloom.
We’ve visited in the past and wrote a post about it here. Generally, the festival is the entire month of April. You’ll need to double check to verify that the flowers are actually in bloom before you go. Often, the event website will offer more information about that or even a “tulip cam” to see what the status is. You’ll also need to note the operating hours of the farms you plan to visit.
If you’d like a map of the farms we visited, click here or the map below to view the interactive verson. Or if you’d like to add another tulip or daffodil field to the map, you can do so here if you’re registered and logged in. You can, of course, access this year’s festival map on the event website.
Some of the farms offer (at an extra charge of course) programs for photographers to get there early at sunrise to photograph the farms, which makes a great setting for portraits. There is, of course, never any guarantee of weather.
We added Tulip Town as the main location, here, at it seemed to be the center of the event when we visited, but there are many farms in the area, so be prepared to drive around…or ride your bike.
