We may be like you — we love to travel but we’re not “digital nomads,” are in the PNW most of the time, and have some qualms about the environmental impacts made by our adventures — so many of our explorations on this blog are local…but we have plenty that we haven’t yet written about from outside our lovely little corner of the world that is the PNW. We love it here, but love to go abroad as well.

Further Thoughts and Sustainable Travel Calculator
Sustainability and our environmental impact has been on my mind lately — how much of an impact it makes to fly frequently (which I’d love to do, but don’t)
We’ve added a carbon footprint calculator, here, courtesy of Sustainable Travel International.
According to it, our economy flight from Seattle to London Heathrow would add 4.2 metric tons of carbon emissions. According to this article, a typical gas passenger vehicle give off about 4.6 metric tons a year. So my two-week vacation adds just a little under that.
I’m still thinking about this.
