Salmon Cascades

The Salmon Cascades "exhibit" is a viewing platform above an area of the Sol Duc river where salmon jump during their Autumn upstream migration, affording a good view of the jumping fish.

You'll also find a short trail that leads to some huge, climbable, boulders on the river.

There's also an area where you can get closer to the fish if you're willing to climb down some rocks and roots.

For more about Salmon cascades, view this post.ย

You can also view a brief post about photographing the salmon here and the full size image for the featured photo in the PNW Nature gallery by clicking here.

Fish Park

Poulsbo Fish Park is a wonderful 40 acre park with Dogfish Creek and an estuary that goes into Liberty Bay. You might see chum, coho salmon, and cutthroat trout here.

We'll add some photos here soon enough -- we walk there ALL the time so it's funny that we don't actually have photos of the area on our website right now.
