Short (4.5 mile or so) ride on wide gravel fire roads in Bremerton.
Since I came into the world of larger tires, I've been looking for places to ride in the area that are gravel, but not MTB trails. This ride in Bremerton is, well..uphill on the way there but has a nice bench and viewpoint before completing the loop and heading back down.
The road is a nice, wide, gravel road but has some large chunks of gravel in spots and was a bit bumpy on the way down for this non-mountain-biker. Still, it was a lovely ride on a glowy Autumn day.
I'm reentering this route after the fact, so I didn't put the markers for the turn off to the lookout, but if you head up the trail, you'll see the signs.
The road is off limits to motorized vehicles but when I went, there were no posted signs about e-bikes. And I ride e-bikes so slow that they might as well be non e-bikes.
The trail is also pet-friendly -- but please keep your dog on a leash! When I did this ride, a dog unexpectely ran out at me, away from his person. Fortunately, I was able to stop, did not hit the dog, and saved myself from falling off my bike on the loose gravel.
