My spouse told me that Thing NW wasn’t happening anymore — but he was wrong! However, I was sad to learn that it was no longer going to happen in Port Townsend, though unless you camp lodging during the event was sometimes hard to find! We attended during its first year in 2019.
Now, it’s going to be at Remlinger Farms which will likely bring a different vibe to the event with its petting zoo, rides, etc, but it will probably still be a fun event.
Thing isn’t just a music festival. Sure, you’ll find lots of bands, but you’ll find lectures, other types of performers, and, of course, food and vendors.
Tickets are generally pricey. And there’s a VIP admission — when we went in Port Townsend, this got you into a lounge area which was nice to escape the crowds, have some cocktails, and have a place to rest without leaving the festival to go back to the campground.
Advance sales go online March 12, with general sales starting March 15. It’s before that when we’re listing this, so we’ve added a price of $300 as we don’t yet know what the exact three-day price will be.
We didn’t note camping options for sale along with the tickets. Likely, it’s book-your-own-lodging, but we’re going to check.
