The first thing a friend asked me when I told her about this ride was, “Is there chili? There HAS to be chili!”
The answer is: yes! There is chili at the finish line at the Bainbridge Senior Center, available as an add-on in advance, or right when you’re there.
The Chilly Hilly is a classic cycling route that kicks off the cycling season. And it IS hilly. I’ve ridden the route many times over the years both in warm July weather and cold January weather, but never actually DONE the ride (I meant to last year, but had a bike fit issue and decided not to). The route is around 32 miles with over 2000 feet of elevation.
Yes, you can ride ebikes at Cascade Cycling Club events.
There are two starting places: at the Seattle ferry or on Bainbridge itself, for we on this side of the pond. We’ve listed the location for the Bainbridge side in this event listing.
Note that we’re updating this for 2025 prior to the official announcement from Cascade. But we’re assuming the time will be the same and will doublecheck when their official announcement comes out.
