Event Description
Seattle Seafair’s big parade has been going on since 1950 (as the Seafair Grand Parade). And it’s only gotten biggerer. We recommend either getting down there very early to find a spot or paying for a reserved spot (I don’t recall them having those back in the day). Also, it’s helpful, if you can, to take public transit vs. looking for parking. And put this on your calendar to avoid downtown altogether if you’re not a parade goer. You also have the option of watching the parade on Kiro7.
The parade will have its usual Seafair Pirates, floats, bands, etc. But it’s now kicking off at 3:00 PM which, we think, kind of defies the “torchlight” part of it, though I guess you could have that at any time of day:)
The parade generally starts by the Seattle Center, goes down 4th and ends at Lumen Field. We’ve listed Westlake Center as the location, here, as it’s central.
