Event Description
Beat the Blerch is a 5K, 10K, half, and full marathon which was inspired by the Blerch — a cake-loving character that made its appearance in The Oatmeal webcomic The Terrible & Wonderful Reasons Why I Run Log Distances. A great comic if you are a long distance runner — which I was, for a while, when this comic first appeared. I have apparently, since, given in to my Blerch:)
The run begins at Tolt McDonald Park in Carnation, and mostly runs through the woods. You might be followed by a Blerch! Or find a Burritoughnut station where you can build a burrito out of donuts. And, I expect, there will be cake.
Proceeds for the run go to charity.
