We would like to compensate writers to contribute great posts to our website. However, we need to do so in a way that does not put us at risk of owing more than we make.

So, we’re implementing paying for some posts based on what will, at least initially, be a revenue sharing plan.

Please read on for more information. This page is both the terms you are agreeing to if you apply and the application form.

Compensation in the partner program

Currently, compensation is based on a 50% revenue share.

Revenue on this website, currently comes from ads and affiliate programs.

Unfortunately, our website cannot automatically track ad revenue, though we can track it via analytics and other tracking IDs — so we need to manually apply any earnings to the post on a monthly basis.

In general, we’ll add earnings to posts participating in the program by the 15th of the next month. We can track some affiliate links per-post and will share 50% revenue of earnings from that post.

No earnings are guaranteed.

Partners can view earnings from a tab in their profile and can request payment if the amount reaches the minimum threshold of $10.

Payments are via PayPal and you must enter a valid PayPal address to get paid.

What types of content qualifies?

Most post types qualify for the partner program. Events do not, and we don’t accept galleries or product listings from guest posters.

In the event that we start compensating on word count or post views in the future, it will likely only be for the main post content type and any word count or post views will not be retroactive but would apply going forward. As mentioned, we have not decided on whether to do that yet and will likely evaluate this for a while before we make a decision in that regard.

Posts that are promotional and should be sponsored posts do not qualify for the program.

Acceptance as a “partner”

To become a “partner” and be eligible to potentially generate revenue from a post, a writer must first submit a post that qualifies for publication as described on our Write for Us page and then apply using the form on this page.

If you’re accepted, we’ll then change your role to “partner” and you’ll be able to access the related tab on your profile. Please note, this is in an experimental stage; please bear with us!

Dismissal from the program

If we suspect that a partner is taking actions to artificially inflate ad impressions, post views, or such things, we reserve the right to dismiss a partner from the program without notice. If there are earnings that were earned based on such actions, we can and will withhold them.

PayPal fees

We will pay the PayPal fees when we make payment. We will not make payments of less than $10. If a partner does not request payment and the amount gets to $100, we’ll automatically pay out that amount.

Affiliate links

If you have affiliate links in your partner post, such as Amazon, we’ll replace them with our own where we can and then track those links as part of the 50% revenue share.

What if?

There’s always the chance that we’ll find ourselves no longer able to run this website. If that occurs, we’ll pay out remaining amounts before we either retire or sell the blog.

Apply

The following is the application form. Please make sure you’ve submitted (and ideally published) a post on this website before you submit it.

If you’re here, it’s evident you’re interested in applying to the partner program. Please let us know a bit more about you, what you’ve recently submitted, and what you plan to add in the future.
By checking this, you’ll get added to our list for any partner notifications or announcements. If you want to sign up for other lists, you can do so on on our newsletters page
