About advertising on this website

We have several placements for visual ads on this website. You’ll find all of the ones that we currently offer below. Advertisers can purchase an ad, upload the graphic, or add the HTML (you have the choice between an image ad with a link or an HTML ad) and then wait for our approval. We can also target ad placement by geolocation, device type, logged-in/out user status, or where the ad appears according to the content on this site.

We only list the price on the ad product page as it’s dependent on how many impressions or clicks you wish to purchase. The title should indicate the placement and whether it is a per-impression or per-click ad.

Advertising Terms and Conditions

Here are the terms and conditions for advertising on this website. This applies to HTML and image ads and does not apply to sponsored posts, which have their own terms:

• We can decline to accept an ad for any reason. If your ad is declined, we will issue a refund.
• When you purchase an ad, please let us know if there are any particular places you would like it to appear. We can do our best to target the ad to a specific geographic area or only show it in certain areas of our website — helpful if you’re paying on a per-impression basis.
• We do not offer refunds for ad spend once we’ve posted your ad. The only exception to this is if we decide we cannot run this website anymore and sell or retire the site. In that case, we’ll refund unused advertising funds before the new site owners are established.
• If we change ad prices in the future, we’ll only charge you the new price for subsequent ad purchases.
• Unless you purchase a dedicated spot, your ad will be shown in rotation with other ads. However, we try to give priority to our advertisers over affiliate ads.
• We do use click-limiting features to prevent abuse of pay-per-click ads.
• If we reject or publish your ad, you should get an automated email. Please note that our emails for ads are currently unstyled and provide basic information.
• You’ll get a link to a public page where you can view your ad stats.
