Why Seattle Ballooning? While the festival celebrates with private balloonists launching from the official field, Seattle Ballooning is your gateway to the sky. We are a separate commercial operation, uniquely positioned to offer balloon rides during the festival weekend. Our launch site is conveniently located just down the street from the main event, allowing us to join the array of balloons in flight.

Editor’s Note:

This event was submitted by Seattle Ballooning, which does not organize the festival. I was 100% going to go to this festival this year and had planned to add it to the calendar! While I’ll be (hopefully) going to do photography as the ballons launch in the morning, I’ll definitely consider signing up with them to actually ride in a balloon — something I’ve always wanted to do (but am slighly afraid to do!).

The OFFICIAL website for the balloon rally is: https://www.prosserballoonrally.org/ but they were having some SSL certificate issues last time I checked on it.

You do not need to pay to attend the festival. You can go for free and watch the balloons launch at sunrise on the three days of the festival. It’s just going up in a balloon that costs.

Events do not occur ONLY at sunrise — that’s when the ballons launch. They also have other, daytime events such as a farmer’s market, and a Night Glow event in which the balloons are illuminated at night — the ballons for Night Glow are on the ground and the event takes place at Art Fiker Stadium on the Saturday night of the event.

Note that there is a nearby campground/RV Park (Wine Country RV park). I’ve checked in the past and reservations can fill up quickly the weekend of the balloon rally.
