Christmas Ships Parade of Boats and Christmas Ship Festival
Loading Map....

The annual Argosy Christmas ship is a Seattle tradition — as is this parade of lighted boats making its way from Lake Union through the Fremont Cut.

You can see the boats along the route, but we’ve listed Evanston Plaza as the location, here, as there is a viewing party here from 7:30 – 9: 30 PM with refreshments and holiday music.

The boats, themselves, depart from Lake Union at 8:20 PM.

And Argosy also has a Christmas Ship Festival — which consists of a bunch of events and cruises, so we’re adding information about that as well.

Argosy PR sent us more about this event. Here’s what they have to say:

It’s the most wonderful time of the year with Argosy Cruises holiday festivities! From November 23 to December 23, experience the magic of the season from the water with Argosy’s Christmas Ship™ Festival – a cherished Northwest tradition since 1949. The beautifully decorated Spirit of Seattle™ sails through Puget Sound, spreading holiday cheer to over 40 waterfront communities. Onboard choirs serenade guests, nearby boats, and onshore crowds, creating a magical Christmas atmosphere.

Celebrate Christmas in style aboard Argosy Cruises. Event highlights include:

  • Festive Fun: View the lighting ceremony of the Christmas Ship and listen to live choir crews onboard.
  • Family Fun: Indulge in milk and cookies during Santa’s storytime, “Cookies with Santa.”
  • Community Celebration: Spread holiday cheer during the 9th Annual Parade of Boats from Evanston Plaza or onboard.
  • Enjoy festive refreshments and cocktails during an adult-friendly evening sailing time or on a decked-out follow boat.

Sail into a wonderland this Christmas. The festival will feature:

  • Preview Nights on November 23 & 24: Get a sneak peek of the festival magic reaching Argosy’s salt-water performance locations (Golden Gardens, Carkeek, Alki Beach, etc.) at a discounted price.
  • Official Opening Night on November 29: Observe the Lighting of the Christmas Ship and hear the carols from a choir performance before boarding.
  • 9th Annual Parade of Boats December 13: Participate in the traditional parade at a viewing party in Evanston Plaza or onboard an Argosy ship.
  • Grand Finale December 23: Bid our final boat goodbye with a sail to Gas Works Park.
