The annual Bainbridge Rotary Auction is a ginormous rummage sale and silent auction that takes place every July, filling Woodward Middle School on Bainbridge Island.
There is so much stuff that it can be a bit overwhelming!
I love it…but I cannot take my spouse because:
- He gets impatient if I browse too long and
- We end up with things like a huge popcorn maker that sits in our pantry (but, hey, he repaired it, it works, and it makes good popcorn)
There’s a preview night the evening before — I’ve been to it, but you can’t get too close to (for instance) the tables full of clothing to browse around and see what’s there. And you can’t purchase things the night before. I guess if you see something you want, you can get in line early on Saturday morning and make a dash for it if it’s not one of the silent auction items.
This event gets GOOD attendance. If you want to go, you should get there early to get parking and get in line. If you don’t mind paying for parking and are mostly going to meander around and take a look, then maybe you can get there a bit later.
Here’s their short promo:
