Love lavender? You don’t need to go to Provence — though do if you can — we have plenty of Lavender close to home in the Olympic Peninsula. The Sequim Lavender Festival celebrates this with a three day festival.
Sequim (pronounced “Skwim,” incidentally) has many lavender farms and hosts a festival every year. The center of the festival is at beautiful Carrie Blake park (also check out their Japanese garden and pond while you’re there) where there is food, music, crafts…but for the lavendar, follow the map to visit the various farms in the area.
I might write an actual post about the festival and where my favorite farms were. Be forewarned — one of the largest farms, Purple Haze Lavender Farm, hosts “Purple Haze Daze” which coincides with the festival. There are tickets for that event and parking is VERY limited so you can’t just show up there and expect to see the farm during the festival, unless you have event tickets.
Note: This is a map from the 2018 festival, the 2019 map is not available at the time this was posted, but keep checking their website for more information.
