The Alaska Airlines Seattle Seafair Torchlight Parade is the biggie of all the Seattle parades (but more traditional than the funky Fremont Solstice Parade). The parade runs through downtown Seattle and features the usual Seafair pirates, clowns, floats, bands and more.
The parade, as it’s always been, is free. However, you can reserve seats for the parade if you want to pay $25-50 for a seat. If you want to attend the parade for free, I suggest getting there very early, taking the bus (or the ferry if you live “across the pond” from Seattle as I do now), and bringing your own chairs, blankets and whatever else you need to keep you comfortable on a Seattle summer evening.
From the Seafair website:
Since 1950, thousands of spectators have gathered on a warm July night to watch as parade units march, float and dance in celebration of Seattle.
