For 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak the Shoreline Edible Book Festival is ONLINE! Submissions (photos) must be entered by 5:00 PM on April 3 and judging with happen over the weekend with a Facebook live stream of the winners on Sunday the 5th.
What follows is prior information about the festival:
Did you ever love a book so much that you just wanted to eat it? Here’s your chance! Books are “exhibited, judged, then consumed.” Some of the books are look-alikes for the titles they represent, others are puns on book titles. In come cases, the cake is a political commentary on the book.
I was wondering if this idea was based on a book — the only one I could find was The Incredible Book Eating Boy by Oliver Jeffers. If I got up my energy to enter my own edible book, maybe this would be the one (if it hadn’t already been done!).
