The Garmin Varia RCT715 is a bike radar device and tail light that also records video of approaching vehicles and detetcts incidents. Does it make you safer? It makes me at least feel safer. Here's a review.

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby van Pelt, set in a fictional town a couple hours north of Seattle, is a good read if you like: books set in the PNW, the giant pacific octopus, or feel good reads. This is a brief review.

Thule Hullavator Demo and Review

I guess the Thule Hullavator is like an elevator, only for your hull (of your kayak). I've used the Hullavator for a few years now -- overall it's a nice piece of gear and lets me schlep my kayak around solo. But it does have a few drawbacks as well. Here's what I think, with a video demo.
